How to Upload a 3D Design Model

This article will cover how to upload 3D design models, including allowable build-types, upload requirements, and how to access & view them after uploading.

 

3D can be viewed any parcel with varying transparencies, angles & attributes. 3D can be applied to all build types, including: Houses, Duplexes, Granny Flats/ADUs, Pools & Sheds.

  • The 3D model should be in '.glb' format.
  • The size of the model should be less than or equal to 25 MB.

  • To access the Admin section Click on your initials on the top right corner of the screen.
  • Select Admin from the dropdown menu.

  • Click Design Catalogues.

Users can add a 3D model to any design that is in the Design Catalogue.

  • Click the Three Dots to the right of the design price.

  • Click the Placement Image.

  • Click on the 3D Model tab.

  • Click Select 3D Model from the panel on the right.

  • Select the .glb file from your computer.

The yellow rectangle represents the base design/floor plan.

  • Drag the black screen to reposition or re-centre the view.
  • Drag the model to place it over the yellow rectangle.
  • Use the green slide bars / edit the numbers to align the model.
  • Click the green Tick to Save.

It is recommended to adjust and align the model while viewing it from the top for optimal accuracy.

Guide for Granny Flats, ADUs, Sheds & Houses

  • Toggle Top-Down View: Switches between top & side views. Use to align model.
  • Transparency: Adjusts model opacity.
  • Model Heading: Rotates the model horizontally (0°–360°).
  • Model Roll: Rotates around the longitudinal (y) axis.
  • Model Pitch: Rotates around the lateral axis.
  • Model Height: Sets height relative to ground.
  • Ceiling Height: Defines height from ground to ceiling start.
  • Model Scale: Manually adjusts model size.
  • Approximate Scale: Automatically scales model using dimensions.

View the 3D model live

  • Search for an address. 
  • Place the floor plan of the 3D model on to the site. 
  • Click the 3D icon.
