How to Check Compliance

This article will cover how to find & interpret property compliance for any build type & edit the setbacks if necessary.

There are different Rule Sets that can be applied to each site depending on its location or Build Type.

  • In the US, the main rule set for compliance is USA Country.
  • NZ uses local rule sets based on the region.
  • AU has state rules available for every site. Estate-specific or local rules can be added on request if they are not already loaded.
The basic Site Info is available upon loading the site.
  • Place a Design on the site for the complete list of rules for compliance.
  • The Setbacks display as a grey perimeter around the parcel.
  • Click Siting

  • Select Compliance to view the full list of property rules.
  • Click Rule Sets to swap between options, if available.

  • Green ticks indicate the current build is compliant.
  • Key rules to check include Land Zoning & Setbacks.

    • Breaching a rule or setback will result in a Red X.
    • Placing a design over an existing structure or breaching a setback will also trigger a Red X.
    • A red X doesn't always mean the build is non-compliant — always double-check.
    • Example: A zero lot boundary on a garage may be flagged as non compliant.
    • Click the Required Number to edit the Setbacks.
    • Click the Circular Arrow to reset.

All Setbacks are in Metres for ANZ & Feet for US.

Setbacks can be edited if required; however, it is recommended that changes are only made if you are familiar with the official setback requirements for the selected build type.

A common reason for adjusting setbacks may include applying specific rules associated with a new Land Estate.
